Is hair removal permanent?

Skindeep Clinics only uses technology that has been approved for permanent hair reduction by the United States Federal Drug Administration. This means most clients will achieve long-term, stable hair reduction. There are factors however that must be considered when we speak of permanency and these factors are; genetics, hormonal and medicinal. Any one of these factors may cause hair to grow in an area that has been treated. Annual treatments are recommended to ensure no hairs are growing and to maintain best results.

The Ultra Energist IPL is the latest advance in technology.

Does it hurt?

The sensation is often described as a rubber band flick. The sensation only lasts for a nano-second and a warm or tingling sensation may be felt for a short time after. Most people tolerate the treatment well. There is no need for any local anaesthesia. Treatment can be more uncomfortable around the time of menstruation when pain thresholds may be reduced.

Is hair removal safe?

Yes... all IPL procedures are safe. It is stated internationally by Dr Georghy (Sydney ) that IPL procedures are therapeutic as they mimic mother nature.

Intense Pulsed Light treatments have not been known to ionise DNA or cause cancer.

How Much Does It Cost

A consultation is $30 and during this time with your Registered Nurse IPL Specialist a price for your treatment will be discussed. This cost comes off the price of your first treatment.
Treatments start at $60.

How many treatments are necessary?

Hair goes through 3 stages of development. IPL hair removal is most effective when your hair is in the active growing phase. Only 30% of your hair is actively growing at any time. It is important therefore to understand that a client may need from 4 to 8 treatments to achieve effective hair removal.

We see incredible reduction by the third treatment. You must try it.

PRE AND POST TREATMENT CARE

Pre Treatment Guidelines

  • Ensure make up/moisturizer/deodorant is removed prior to treatment
  • It is imperative you do not actively tan for 7 days either side of your treatment.
  • Notify the registered nurse performing your treatment of any medication changes
  • Ensure you have a minimum SPF30 sun block in a moisturizer/make up base to wear every day if face is treated.
  • If you find treatments painful or very uncomfortable, we ask you reschedule your treatments if you are menstruating as your pain threshold is significantly reduced at this time.
  • Dermal fillers or other injectibles should not be done within 2 weeks before or after a skin rejuvenation treatment

    Post Treatment Guidelines
